About University
TNPESU is a short form of Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University. It was established by an act of the government of Tamil nadu in the year 2004.TNPESU is the first state university in physical education and sports. It is a unique affiliating university especially for Physical Education and Sports. Presently, the university comprises 3 faculties, 5 departments, and 21 affiliated colleges. It is accredited by NAAC with an B+ grade. Some of its professional courses are approved by AICTE, and NCTE. The university also has its own school of distance education, offering various undergraduate, postgraduate, PG diploma, diploma, and certificate programs.

TNPESU UG Program Admission 2026
TNPESU admission process for all UG programmes will begin soon for the session 2026. Students can register for UG programmes like B.P.E.S.(Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports), B.Sc., Sports Bio Mechanics and Kinesiology, B.Sc., Sports Coaching, B.Sc., Yoga, and B.Sc., Exercise Physiology & Nutrition. Undergraduate programs are offered for a duration of 3 years and 6 semesters. Applicants admitting to B.P.E.S. and B.Sc. Sports Coaching will have to appear for trails for which students have to pay INR 300/-.
To qualify for admission, only eligible applicants who have completed 12th standard or its equivalent and have proficiency in sports and games can apply. TNPESU undergraduate program fee is around INR 8,952/ – to INR 27,096/- for the academic year 2026. The upper age limit of the UG program is 21 years old. There is a 5-year relaxation for SC/ST/other categories.
TNPESU PG Program Admission 2026
TNPESU admission for all PG programs will start soon for the session 2026. The university offers various programs such as M.Tech., Sports Technology, M.B.A., Sports Management, M.Sc., Sports Biomechanics and Kinesiology, M.Sc., Yoga, M.Sc., Exercise Physiology & Nutrition. Including M.Sc. Sports Psychology and Sociology, M.Sc. Sports Psychology and M.Sc. Sports Coaching. All PG programs are available for the academic duration of 2 years with 4 semesters.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree in any related discipline to be eligible for admission to TNPESU. For programs such as M.P.Ed / M.Sc. For sports Coaching, the selection trial fee will be INR 300/-.

- Step 5: Now register with name, mobile number, mail ID, date of birth, and click on register after entering captcha code.
- Step 6: No log in mobile number, date of birth, and captcha code.
- Step 7: Fill up the application form with mandatory personal details and educational information.

TNPESU Seat Reservation
Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University seat reservation will be based on the rules of the government of Tamil Nadu. which is 31% for Open Competition, 26.5% for Backward Classes, and 3.5% for Backward Classes Muslims. This also includes 15% for Scheduled Castes (SC), 3% for SCA, and 1% for ST. out of which 100 seats will be reserved for differently abled persons belonging to SC/ST/. The rule of reservation will apply to 100% government colleges, 50% of Aided minority colleges, 90% of Aided Non minority colleges, and 50% seats for Self-financing courses offered by the Aided Colleges. Also, 3% of seats in Ug and 2% of seats should be reserved for sports quota.
