Sidho- Kanho- Birsha University (SKBU) is a public state university located in Purulia, West Bengal. It was established in 2010 and formed by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly to promote higher education. It has an accreditation of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B+ grade. SKBU’s aim is to spread education in remote areas and improve the quality of learning. The university offers postgraduate courses in 18 subjects. It focuses on research and overall development in academics. SKBU UG Admission 2026-27
SKBU admission process for the undergraduate courses will begin soon for the academic session 2026-27. candidates can apply for various UG courses such as B.A in Bengali, Political Science, Sanskrit, Urdu, B.Sc in Zoology, Microbiology, Chemistry, B.Ed, BBA and many more. These courses generally take 3 to 4 years to complete which consists of 6 to 8 semesters. For pursuing any UG programme from SKBU, students need to have passed their senior secondary education (10+2) from a recognized board.

SKBU admission registration window has not opened yet for the postgraduate (PG) programmes for the academic session 2026-27. SKBU offers various PG courses like M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MBA, LLM, M.Lib.I.Sc, M.S.S and more. To be eligible for these 2-year PG courses, one must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a UGC approved university.
Applicants are also required to secure at least 50% to 55% aggregate marks at the graduation level in a related field. Candidates can seek admission to various PG courses on the basis of the merit score of the last qualifying examination.
