SKBU admissions process will start soon for the 2026-27 academic session. The university offers admission into various UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, and Certificate courses across several fields. Candidates can apply for admission through their official website. However, the university provides admissions on the basis of merit score, but for some programmes, it may require an entrance test. To be eligible for UG courses, candidates must pass their higher secondary education and for PG courses must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. There is no application fee required at SKBU, but the registration fee for PG courses is INR 100.

Sidho- Kanho- Birsha University (SKBU) is a public state university located in Purulia, West Bengal. It was established in 2010 and formed by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly to promote higher education. It has an accreditation of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B+ grade. SKBU’s aim is to spread education in remote areas and improve the quality of learning. The university offers postgraduate courses in 18 subjects. It focuses on research and overall development in academics. To promote and preserve the local culture, the university introduced a certificate course in the “ Cultural Heritage of Purulia”. 

SKBU UG Admission 2026-27 

SKBU admission process for the undergraduate courses will begin soon for the academic session 2026-27. candidates can apply for various UG courses such as  B.A in Bengali, Political Science, Sanskrit, Urdu, B.Sc in Zoology, Microbiology, Chemistry, B.Ed, BBA and many more. These courses generally take 3 to 4 years to complete which consists of 6 to 8 semesters. For pursuing any UG programme from SKBU, students need to have passed their senior secondary education (10+2) from a recognized board. 

Candidates also need to obtain at least 75% marks in the 12th level. The selection process for UG courses depends on the basis of obtaining marks in the last qualifying examination; however, for some courses students have to appear in an entrance test. 

SKBU PG Admission 2026- 27 

SKBU admission registration window has not opened yet for the postgraduate (PG) programmes for the academic session 2026-27. SKBU offers various PG courses like M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MBA, LLM, M.Lib.I.Sc, M.S.S and more. To be eligible for these 2-year PG courses, one must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a UGC approved university. 

Applicants are also required to secure at least 50% to 55% aggregate marks at the graduation level in a related field. Candidates can seek admission to various PG courses on the basis of the merit score of the last qualifying examination. SKBU Admission Fee Structure 2026-27

The fee structure of Sidho- Kanho- Birsha University (SKBU) is quite reasonable compared to other universities. Below is the detailed list of the fee structure. 

• Application Fee: Application fee is non-refundable, no application fee is required, but the registration fee can be paid at the time of registration. The registration fee is INR 100. 
• Tuition Fee: Tuition fee for non-lab-based lab based subjects is INR 700, and for lab-based subjects it is INR 1,000 per semester. 
• Examination Fee: An examination fee is INR 550 per semester.  
• Self-Financing Courses Fee: The fee for self-financing courses ranges between INR 10,000 to INR 25,000 per semester. 

SKBU Admission Process 2026-27

SKBU admission for the UG & PG admissions will start soon for the 2026- 27 academic year. The admissions are entirely based on the merit score of the last qualifying examination. Candidates can fill the online application form through their respective portal.

• Step 2: Registration: Register with basic information such as name,DOB, mobile number and email address. 
• Step 3: Log In: Log in with your mobile number, DOB and email address
• Step 4: Select courses and specialization that you want to pursue from SKBU 
• Step 5: Application Form: Fill out the application form by entering your primary details, parents income details,qualification details etc. 
• Step 6: Upload Documents: Submit all documents in JPG/JPEG format including scanned signature, photographs etc 
• Step 7: Submission: Carefully check all details and submit the application form for further payment processing 
• Step 8: Fee Payment: Pay the online application fee using given payment methods like UPI, Net Banking or Debit/ Credit Card 
• Step 9: Confirmation & Verification: After verifying all the details you will receive an acknowledgement letter or a confirmation mail from the university

SKBU Result

SKBU (Sidho- Kanho- Birsha University) announces results for various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses on its official website (Exam Result). Candidates can check their results online by entering their roll number, year of exam, and other registration details.  After the online declaration of results, students can collect their original mark sheet from the university.
