Sikkim University is a government university which was established in 2007 and is located in Gangtok and Yan gang in Sikkim. The university offers a wide variety of programs by following the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Sikkim University provides programs in Physical Science, Human Sciences, Languages and Literature, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, and Professional Studies at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. Sikkim University admission process will begin soon for the academic year 2026-27. UG level courses are typically 3 to 4 years long, which are divided into 6 to 8 semesters. Students who want to pursue studies in areas like social sciences, medical sciences, languages and literatures, physical sciences, management, education, commerce, and can apply for admission. 

To be eligible for these UG programs, candidates have to complete their 10+2 with a related subject stream. Students also have to obtain at least 50% and 45% for SC/ST/DA/OBC in their 12th board examinations. Along with this, students have to appear in the CUET UG examination.

Sikkim University provide disciplines like M.A., M.Com., M.Sc., M.C.A., M.Ed., L.L.M., M.Lib.I.Sc., M.P.A., M.T.T.M and many more. These disciplines cover areas and fields like management, commerce, sciences, humanities, literature and languages, mass communication and journalism, life science and more. The duration of these courses is generally  1 to 2 years long which consists of  2 to 4 semesters. 

For admission in Postgraduate courses, applicants have to graduate from similar disciplines and honours degree at the undergraduate level with passing marks. The eligible marks are 50% for General and 45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ DA. Candidates have to qualify CUET PG with good merit to take admission in Sikkim University.

• Application fees: The application fee is a one-time payment which is non-refundable as well. For general it is to INR 1000, INR 750 for EWS/OBC and INR 500 SC/ST/PWD/DA. 
• Admission Fees: Admission fees are around INR 620 to INR 1240 depending on the course. Admission fees are non-refundable fees. 
• Tuition Fees for UG Programs: Tuition fees for undergraduate courses for 1st semester is generally around INR 636 to INR 1240. 
• Tuition Fees for PG Programs: For postgraduate programs, tuition fees are typically around INR 744 to INR 6720, depending on the selected course for the 1st semester.
• Examination Fees: The examination fee generally ranges between  INR 1240 to INR 2480 based on the number of exams in a semester. These fees have to be paid every semester.
