Ravenshaw University admission process for the academic session 2026 has not started yet. It offers admissions in various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. Eligibility Criteria is required to fulfill for admission in any course. Students with Bachelor degrees can apply for PG programmes and Bachelor Special Programmes. Ravenshaw College was founded in 1868 and it was affiliated to Calcutta University in 1876. Then in 1891, it was affiliated to Patna University. It is the oldest institution of higher education in Odisha. University is approved from UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act. It also holds NAA ‘A++’ accreditation. Ravenshaw University is known for delivering high quality education to students.

Ravenshaw University admission will begin soon for the undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2026-27. It will provide admission in regular courses through Centralized Admission Process under SAMS, Government of Odisha. There is an eligibility criteria as well that must be fulfilled by every student for admission. Admissions shall be done based on merit in the last qualifying examination. Students will be selected on ‘First Come, First Serve Basis’. UG programmes have 3 years course duration, including 6 semesters in total. UG programmes offered by University are B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, with multiple specializations.

All eligible students who wants to apply have to submit an application form SAMS. All communications for UG admission updates will be through SAMS websites. Students also have to pay required application fee at the time of submitting form which is non refundable. There are reservation of admission seats for various category students as per University norms though it is not applicable for students who are not from Odisha.

Ravenshaw University admission registration process will start soon for the PG courses in July 2026. Admissions for Postgraduate programmes at the University are done on the basis of merit and an entrance exam for some specific courses. Students may have to take the Common Postgraduate Entrance Test or JEE, depending on the course they want to apply to. Postgraduate Programmes have 2 years course duration and Ravenshaw University runs semester structure to deliver this programme, which means PG programmes will be delivered in 4 semesters. 

For merit-based programmes University will select students on the basis of who comes first through SAMS. As per University guidelines, it is mandatory to fulfill eligibility criteria to apply for any programme or applications will not be considered by University.

• Eligibility for UG Programmes: Students must cleared their 10+2 from certified educational board. They should have 50% aggregate marks in their last qualifying exam. For some programmes, there is criteria to be passed from specific stream/subject as mentioned.
• Eligibility for PG Programmes: Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree from recognised University. They should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in their last qualifying examination. University has specific requirements like degree in relevant discipline, medical test, etc for some programmes.
• Relaxation in Eligibility: Reserved Category students get relaxation of 5% in their minimum required marks.

Ravenshaw University Scholarship and Fellowship

Ravenshaw University does not have any scholarship programme of its own. Students can apply for Medhabruti (merit scholarship) and Prerana scholarship to undergraduate and post graduate students belonging to SC and ST communities offered by Government of Odisha. UGC awards Maulana Azad, RGNF, JRF/SRF Fellowships to research scholars, if they are selected. A few departments offers endowment scholarships to meritorious students.
