NEHU admission has not started yet for the academic session 2026. University is offering admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate and PhD programs. The registration process will be held online only, including payment of the admission fee. Application form fee is INR 500/– for Gen and INR 250/– for SC/ST General Courses and for Professional Courses, INR 800/- for Gen and INR 400/– for SC/ST. Admission in north-eastern hill university will be through merit in qualifying examinations and scores of CUET UG/PG, and scores of national entrance examination. About University
NEHU stands for North-Eastern Hill University. It was established in 1973. It has three campuses, with one main campus in Shillong located at Mawkynroh, Umshing, Shillong. NEHU is accredited by NAAC with an A grade. Tura Campus is located at Chasingre, Tura and the third campus, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Community College is located in Wahiajer in West Jaintia Hills District. NEHU encompasses 44 academic departments, and 2 Centres of study under eight Schools. There are a total 79 affiliated colleges under NEHU and it is a member of ‘Promotion of Indian Higher Education Abroad (PIHEAD)’ and Study India Programme of the UGC. NEHU UG Program Admission 2026
NEHU admission for the undergraduate programs will start soon for the academic year 2026. University offers B.Tech in 8 specializations, B.Arch and BA LLB program in undergraduate category. Students can avail undergraduate degree programs for the courses length of four years and eight semesters.
To be eligible for the UG program, students need to pass a 10+2 examination or equivalent in any stream with a minimum 45% to 50% mark from a recognized board. University provides 5% relaxation to SC/ST category. Admission will be based on merit qualifying scores of CUET UG for BA LLB program. selection for b.Tech program will be done through JEE MAIN, and for B.ARCH program a valid NATA score is required. Undergraduate program fee will range around INR 3600 to INR 18000/- per semester.
NEHU PG Program Admission 2026
NEHU admission window has not opened yet for all postgraduate programs for the academic year 2026. Students are invited to apply for the Program offered by the university. Such as M.Com, MA in 15 specializations, M.Sc with 12 specializations, master of Business Administration, M.Ed., LL.M., master of Social Work, M.Tech with 4 specializations, master of Computer Application, and master of Library and Information. Postgraduate programs are available for the duration of two years and four semesters.
Applicants are required to have a valid PG CUET. Students must have a bachelor degree from a recognized university. Students must have scored a minimum 50% to 55% mark in relevant discipline(5% relaxation is available for reserved category). Selection for M.Tech will be through GATE scores, and for MBA programs qualifying CUET(PG)/MAT(AIMA) scores. For postgraduate courses fee students are required to pay INR 9000/- INR 30000/-.

NEHU Admission Process 2026
All the names and details of the applicants have to be the same everywhere. Students are advised to fill in correct details only. As any discrepancy will lead to cancellation of the application form.
- Step 1: Go to www.nehuadm.samarth.edu.in/. Link.
- Step 2: Register with your active email address and mobile number.
- Step 3: Create a strong password, and username.
- Step 4: Enter captcha verification code and click on register.
- Step 5: Now the application form will appear, filling up academic and personal details correctly is necessary.
- Step 6: Upload your scan signature and photograph.
- Step 7: Select your courses and fill in related information.
- Step 8: Pay application fee online.
- Step 9: Submit the form and keep a print out of the application form.
NEHU Fellowships/ Scholarships/Students’ Aid Fund
- Junior Research Fellowship: applicable for students who have qualified NET with a minimum 55% mark. UGC also may provide fellowship to NET-qualified applicants.
- NEHU Postgraduate Scholarships are available to meritorious students and scholarships to fresh applicants on the basis of their previous academic performance.
- Financial assistance is also available for needy students under the Students Aid Fund. which will include payment of tuition fees, purchase of text books, examination fees, stationery expenses, and medical expenses.
