About University
MKBU is a short form of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University. This is a public state university situated in Bhavnagar of state Gujarat. MKBU started its service in 1978. The motto of MKBU is “Tamso Ma Jyotir Gamaya”. This university has gotten approval from UGC, and it has also got accreditation from NAAC with Grade A. The initial college from which Mahatma Gandhi completed is now run by MKBU.

MKBU admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. Most of the UG courses like B.Sc, BA, B.Com, and more, are available through merit only. These courses are available in many streams. For admission in MKBU UG courses, some parameters are set by the University. These parameters are here as:
Students applying for UG courses need 50% marks in their qualifying examination which is the Intermediate. This certification should be from a state board or Gujarat board or the Central board. If you are opting for a specific course, your qualification should be from related subjects only. Some courses ask for a NEET scorecard. MKBU PG Courses Admission 2026
MKBU PG courses are MA, MBA, M.Sc, in many faculties. MKBU admission will start soon for the PG courses. Before applying for MKBU PG course admission. You are required to overcome the criteria necessary for admission. To be eligible for a PG course, Bachelors degree is a mandatory factor. You need a marksheet to qualify this course from a recognised university. Interested candidates shall have 45% to 55% required minimum marks. There is relaxation provided to reserved candidates as per government norms and guidelines. SC and ST get benefits of 7% and 15% respectively. MKBU MA Admission
MKBU MA Admission will be available for interested students. To get a confirmed seat in MA Admission, you need to pass some criteria. These criteria are here as:
Students must have Bachelors qualification from an approved institution or recognized University. There is a minimum marks requirement which is 50% weightage. SC/ST/OBC students get 7% to 15% relaxation from university. If you are opting for an honours degree, you must have a qualification in that particular subject or related to that. Eligibility Criteria For MKBU Admission 2026
There are numerous courses from undergraduate to doctoral. Which is being offered in a wide spectrum of faculty or streams. These streams are here as Arts, Medicine, Education, Management, and others. All the process will be online. Eligibility criteria for MKBU Admission are as follows.
- UG: Minimum aggregate marks is 50% from a 12th qualified candidate. If a specific subject is required for the course. Rest of UG courses are based on Entrance examination performance.
- PG: A candidate who is applying for PG admission at MKBU, 50% marks is required while some ask for higher marks. A specific subject/honours is a must if you are opting for honours in undergraduate. Some also ask for a national-level entrance test.

M.Sc (Chemistry/Statistics/Marine Science/Life Science/Physics) needs a tuition fee of Rs. 600. For M.A/M.Com/M.Sc(Maths) tuition fee is Rs. 600. The MBA tuition fee is Rs. 2050, while its overall fee is Rs. 15600.

MKBU Admission Application Process 2026
Offline mode for application is not available. All the processes related to application will be carried out online. Application form will be available on MKBU official website. Here are some steps you need to follow.
- Step 1: Official Website: Registration will be done from the official website. Keep checking latest notifications and news.
- Step 2: Register: Now, all you need to do is Register as a New Student.
- Step 3: Login: User ID and password will be provided to official mail. Use that and login.
- Step 4: Check Criteria: Before opting for course, check its required criteria and choose your course.
- Step 5: Fill Out Form: Enter all necessary information, like name, details, academics and more.
- Step 6: Upload: Carefully read all instructions before uploading necessary documents.
