MCU, located in Bhopal, was established in 1990 by the Madhya Pradesh Government. It is a public University which is named after Pt. Makhanlal Chaturvedi who was a great poet, editor, and freedom fighter. MCU is first academic centre of excellence in entire Asian subcontinent. University is approved by UGC, and is a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). NAAC has also accredited MCU with a ‘B’ grade. This University is a pioneer in Mass Communication. Makhanlal Chaturvedi University Admission 2026: UG Programmes

Makhanlal Chaturvedi University admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. Admission will be given based on a merit list prepared by the University by adding 70% of the marks students obtained in 12th class and 30% of the marks obtained in the Online interview. An application fee of Rs. 550 is necessary to pay and is non-refundable. SC/ST candidates get a concession in the application fee. All UG Programmes have a course duration of 3 to 4 years and include courses such as Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Commerce, Master pf Computer Applications, and so on, offered with multiple specialisations.

Candidates can apply for numerous UG programmes at once. For each additional programmes, a separate admission form of INR 350 has to be submitted by general category meanwhile SC/ST students can submit form by paying INR 50 only. All interested candidates are required to fulfill eligibility criteria as its is a major requirement.

Makhanlal Chaturvedi University Admission 2026: PG Programmes

Makhanlal Chaturvedi University admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. Admission will be given by following same procedure as UG admissions. The university will prepare a merit list by adding 70% marks from 1st and 2nd year of graduation and 30% marks obtained from the Online interview. If students have their graduation result in semester structure, then 70% marks from 4 semesters will be added. An application fee of INR 550 is mandatory to pay and non-refundable. SC/ST candidates get an application fee concession. PG Programme has duration of 2 years and consists 4 semesters.

MCU offers PG degree in various programmes like Master of Arts (MA), Master of Computer Application (MCA), Master of Science (M.SC) with their specializations. Candidates get the opportunity to pursue multiple programmes, applying for all at once by paying additional fee of INR 350 for separate admission form. Candidates from SC/ST category can pay INR 50 only for separate admission form. All candidates are required to fulfill eligibility criteria as mentioned below:

• They must hold a bachelor’s degree from recognised board of University
• Students must have at least 50% marks in their last qualifying examination. SC/ST students are required to have minimum 45% marks.

• Step 2: Then after registering, they can access admission form by selecting the course they want to apply in.

Makhanlal Chaturvedi University: After Interview Process

Once candidates give an Online interview, then the University will release list of selected students. It is required for those students to submit their marksheet, caste certificate, and other necessary certificates for further admission process through Email to their concerned department within 3 working days. Then University will examine and very these certificates. Once examined, students can deposit their 1st instalment of fee. If documents will not be sent within given time, admission of those students can go null and void.
