Lucknow University admission process will start soon for the academic session 2026 for its UG programmes. Lucknow University follows NEP 2020 (National Education Policy). UG programmes offered under NEP 2020 are of 4 years duration and University follows semester structure to deliver them, which means it consists of 8 semesters. Non NEP 2020 based UG Programmes are of 3 years duration, consisting 6 semesters. University offers various UG courses such as Bachelor of Arts (B.A), BJMC, Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), B.Sc, Bachelor of Visual Arts, etc with multiple specializations.

Lucknow University admission registration process for the postgraduate program will start soon for the academic session 2026. LU offers PG admissions on the basis of merit as well as entrance tests conducted by the University. Postgraduate Programmes at LU have 2 2-year course duration, consisting of 4 semesters. It offers various PG programmes like MBA, Master’s in Visual Arts, M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, LL.B, LL.B, etc. It offers some programmes with multiple specializations. Interested students have to fulfill basic eligibility criteria as well. If they are eligible, they can apply through LU’s official website.
There will be compulsory application fee as well, which is non-refundable. Reserved Category students gets concession in their application fee.

Lucknow University Admission Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates who are interested in Lucknow University programmes can apply for admission only if they are fulfilling eligibility criteria. University also conducts entrance exams for some programmes such as B.P.Ed, MBA, MTTM, M.Ed. etc.
- Eligibility Criteria for UG Programmes: All candidates should have cleared their 10th and 12th grade with minimum 50% aggregate marks in related subjects/stream from recognised and certified educational boards.
- Eligibility Criteria for PG Programmes: All candidates must have passed their Undergraduate programme with minimum 45% to 50% aggregate marks from recognised board of University.
- Medical Test and Physical Fitness Test: For courses like M.P.ED. candidates have to qualify physical fitness test in order to get admission here.

Lucknow University Admission Process 2026
- Step 1: Students need to first generate LURN (Lucknow University Registration Number) from its official website, www.lkouniv.ac.in/, by clicking on the ‘Admissions’ option.
- Step 2: Then login to admission portal with the generated LURN and choose you desired programme.
- Step 3: Now start filling admission form with all relevant information that includes educational and personal details.
- Step 4: Upload required documents only from Original documents.
- Step 5: Now pay application fee as required and submit your admission form.
- Step 6: Save filled copy and check registered mail for confirmation of admission form submission.

Lucknow University Entrance Test Structure
Lucknow University Conducts an Entrance Test for admission in some programmes. These programmes include B.P.Ed, B.Ed, MBA, MPPT, M.P.Ed, LL.B, LL.M and M.Ed programmes. For some programmes, students can get admission through the Common Entrance Test.
Admission to these programmes will be in three structures:
- Written Test/Entrance Test: It will be of 3 hours and has 250 marks in total.
- Practical Examination: It will be conducted to check the practical knowledge of candidates.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview and University will review their performance.
After all three steps will be cleared, University will announce selected students (combining result of all three) and then they can pay fee within given timeframe to confirm their admission.
Lucknow University Placements & Salary
Lucknow University has a Central Placement Cell (CPC) available for registered students for various sectors, including MNCs, the Government sector and the Public sector. University’s placement cell dedicatedly works on providing placement assistance, employment counselling, and support for self-employment to registered students.
