Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) is a state open university established on 29th September 2005 by the Government of Assam. The university is located in Guwahati,Assam.KKHSOU has a recognition of the former Distance Education Council (DEC) and now Distance Education Bureau (UGC). The university also has been accredited with B+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It aims to provide high quality education to all who can not take regular classes due to financial constraints, geographical barriers and their job, in distance mode.
KKHSOU Admission 2026: UG Courses
KKHSOU admission portal will open soon for the undergraduate (UG) courses for the 2026 academic session. UG programmes are offered, including B. A in Assamese, Economics, Education, English, History, Sociology, BBA, B.Com and BCA. The eligibility criteria for pursuing undergraduate programmes are to complete senior secondary education (10+2) in any relevant stream from a recognized board. Also, securing a minimum of 45% to 50% is mandatory for admission.
Candidates can seek direct admission to any undergraduate courses without appearing in the entrance exam. Undergraduate programmes take 3 to 4 years to complete. The UG programme fee at KKHSOU starts from INR 3,850 to INR 5,500 per semester.
KKHSOU Admission 2026: PG Courses
KKHSOU admission registrations will start soon for the academic session 2026. Applicants can apply for the M.A. Economics, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, Philosophy, M.Com, MBA, and M.Sc. IT and M.Sc. Mathematics courses. The university provides admissions on the basis of merit score, it does not require any entrance test or any work experience to pursue PG programmes.
The qualifications required for a postgraduate programme is to hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with securing a least 45% to 50% marks from a recognized university by UGC. PG courses fee ranging between INR 6,150 to INR 16,500 per semester.
