JNU Undergraduate Course Admission 2026

JNU admission for the undergraduate course will start soon for the academic session 2026. There are so many JNU offered UG courses that are merit-based in arts and science faculty or field. But several courses offer admission only if you have a scorecard for the entrance examination. For example, B.Tech admission is allowed only after JEE Mains. In same pattern, admission to different UG courses will be on the CUET-UG scorecard or performance. JNU Postgraduate Courses Admission 2026

JNU admissions for PG courses will begin soon for the academic year 2026. For different postgraduate courses like MA, M.Sc, MPH, MCA, and M.Tech will depend on the performance of students in CUET-PG. There are some exceptions, like the M.Sc. in Biotechnology and Computational Biology programme will only be accepted after appearing in the GAT-B Examination. While MBA programmes require CAT in order to get admission. A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 2000 will be paid by you; it is Rs. 1000 for students belonging to reserve category.  For these courses bachelor’s degree from a specific field are necessary and only from a recognized university.

This pattern of qualification should be in a 10+2+3 format of education. 50% marks is the minimum mark percentage for students applying for postgraduate courses. JNU PhD Courses Admission 2026

For academic session of 2026, JNU is going to start application process soon. Admission to Ph.D programmes is through National Eligibility Test (NTA) of University Grant Commission (UGC)/Council of Scientific and Industrial research, Junior Research Fellowship Programme (JRF) and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Eligibility Criteria must possess minimum eligibility. This should be in Academic or education qualification and Relevant entrance exam required for course. A master’s degree in a relevant field and 55% marks is a must. These certifications should be from a well recognized institute or university.

Those candidates who are seeking to ensure their admission through Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), need to apply in this quota separately. GATE score for doctoral candidates of School of Engineering. Relaxation for reserve students is as per UGC rule. Eligibility Criteria For JNU Admission 2026

Eligibility Criteria for JNU admission are different, depending on the level of course. Interested candidates must have minimum eligibility. This is calculated in terms of educational qualification and entrance exam basis. For admission in undergraduate courses like BA, B.Tech and B.Sc, candidates having 45% marks in their senior secondary examination from a certified board will be considered. For postgraduate courses like MA, M.Tech, M.Sc, MCA , MBA and more need bachelors degree, which should be from a recognized university having minimum 45% marks. 

Your qualifying subject should be relevant to your desired specialization. Government of India rule has been applied for reserve candidates. All these selections will be only after appearing in the Entrance Examination necessary for your course. For example, UG candidates need CUET-UG and JEE mains for some courses, PG candidates need CUET-PG, while for Ph.D, NET-UGC/ JRF is compulsory.

JNU Admission Application Process 2026

For most of the courses offered by JNU, admission is only through the common University Entrance Test. While some need GATE, CAT, and JEE Mains. Here is a step of how to process your admission. 

  • Step 1: First, register yourself on JNU official admission portal. 
  • Step 2: Log in with your email ID and password to access the Application form.
  • Step 3: Click on Apply Now, and fill out the form with important details.
