Jiwaji University was established in 1964 by the Madhya Pradesh Government and it is located in Gwalior. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission and has an accreditation of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with “A” grade. The eligibility criteria for pursuing UG programmes from Jiwai University is to pass the higher secondary education (10+2) from a recognized board. Obtaining a minimum of 45% to 50% aggregate marks in a relevant subject also required by the university. Students can seek direct admission on the basis of merit score, while for some programmes like B.E in Electronics,Computer Science,Chemical they need to appear for JEE/ AIEEE. Undergraduate programmes generally take 3 years to complete,which is divided into 6 semesters.

PG programmes offered by Jiwaji University are M.A in Economics, English, Hindi, History, M.Com, MCA, M.Sc in Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science and many more. Jiwaji University provides admissions on the basis of merit score of the qualifying examination, but for some programmes, it requires entrance exams like CET (Common Entrance Test)  which is conducted by DTE Bhopal. 

The basic qualification requirements for PG courses is to hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an approved university. It is mandatory for students to obtain a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC) aggregate marks.

The fee structure of Jiwaji University is very much cheaper than other universities. Undergraduate programmes’ fee range generally goes between INR 8,000 to INR 18,070 per semester. PG programmes range from INR 7,270 to INR 24,410 per semester. Jiwaji University also provides relaxation on fees as per the rules of the Government of M.P. The university also charges a late fee if you pay the fee late. NRI candidates have to  pay US $ 2500.00 per annum in addition to the designated fee for the payment seat of the course.
