About IACS
IACS, a university known for its research in different fields. Its headquarters are based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The foundation of this educational firm was laid in 1876. IACS UG and PG Admission 2026-27
IACS admission for the UG and PG program will start soon for the academic session 2026. Several Steps are there for getting admission in UG and PG courses. Firstly you need to start with registering on IACS portal. Where you need to login with a unique ID provided on registered E-mail. When you login, you will have to go through filling out a form and uploading documents followed by selecting courses for admission. You also need to appear in entrance exams if it is required for your desired course. But before the exam, it is necessary to fulfill eligibility criteria. Some UG courses need to appear in the UG Pre-interview screening test (UPST) while some PG courses require MPST.
The selection process will be carried out on the basis of marks obtained in exam and you will be called for physical verification of documents and counseling. When you will be selected for admission, you are required to pay admission charges and other additional fees through an online gateway.
IACS Ph.D Admission 2026-27
IACS admission for the academic session 2026 will start soon for the PhD course. Doctor of Philosophy(PhD) is a minimum of three years and a maximum of six years course that is offered by IACS. Candidates are invited by IACS (deemed to be a university) to apply for Ph.D programmes in different fields like Biological Science, Chemical Science, Physical Science, Material Science and Computational Science. To be eligible for IACS Ph.D Admission, a minimum required mark in master’s is 55% or 5 CGPA from a science discipline. While for reserved category students like SC/ST/OBC(non creamy layer), people with disability and others got a relaxation of 5%. Minimum parameters for candidates will be based on the UGC rule.
Academic record, overall performance, other factors and entrance exam will decide whether you will be in or out. Your admission will not only depend on satisfactory eligibility criteria, it will be decided by shortlisted candidates of different schools. They will either be informed via mail or will be asked to visit for a written test or interview for final round of selection.
Eligibility Criteria for IACS Admission 2026
The Eligibility criterion for IACS Admission is quite different for courses available in this university. Some Courses admission are on the basis of merit and the University Entrance Test. While Other courses require some specific entrance exam qualifications like NET-JRF for Ph.D. admission. For highly motivated students, an integrated five years Bachelor’s- Master’s program in Science is conducted by IACS. In this program, first three semesters will be dedicated to foundational courses like physics, computer science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biological Science. From semester four, you will get a discipline.
But after the seventh semester, students will be completely exposed to research. Candidates will be qualified for this program with 12th-grade qualifications. Those candidates whose intermediate is due, can be eligible for this appearing in UG Pre-Interview Screening Test (UPST). This will be a CBT mode test. Shortlisted will be called for an interview. You must secure a 60% score in this test in order to get admission.
IACS Admission Fee Structure
The structure of fees is totally dependent on the type of courses. Some courses’ tuition fees are high while some are low. Let’s see what these structures are at IACS.

Tuition fees are the charges for classes, while you need to pay additional fees for your extracurricular activities and other activities. These fees are here as Admission fee-Rs.10000, Other academic fee-Rs.4000, Caution Deposit- Rs. 7500, Student’s emergency fund-Rs.500, Contributory Medical Scheme- Rs. 3000 and others. Apart from these fees, there are some others like Examination fees and Registration fees. Some of these fees are refundable and others are non-refundable while some were adjusted in the last semester. The examination fee is basically for the number of subjects in your courses. It also varies for practical and theoretical subjects.
IACS Admission Application Process 2026
Admission Process at IACS is quite long and consists of many steps. It will start with registering yourself by creating an account on the official portal, in next step you will fill an application form, and appear in entrances either conducted by the University or National or Fellowship. After being shortlisted, you will be called for an interview. Here, understand this step by step:

- Step 2: You will get a USER ID and password on your registered mail.
- Step 3: Log in with that and fill the application form.
