Handique Girls College was established in 1939. It is one of the oldest colleges in the northeastern region of India. Handique Girls College is a government-aided college. Situated in Guwahati, it is the first institute of higher learning for women in the state of Assam. Handique Girls College is affiliated with Guwahati University. It is accredited by NAAC with a B grade and approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The university offers bachelor’s courses in humanities, science, BCA, and postgraduate courses in Assamese, chemistry, botany, and zoology. Including self-financing undergraduate and certificate courses and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA).

Handique Girls College UG Admission 2026

Handique Girls College admission will start soon for all bachelor’s degree programs for the academic session 2026. University offers undergraduate programs under NEP structure. Where all programs offered will be for 4 years and 8 semesters. Programs available are BA, B.SC, BBA, BCA, and B.COM. all the programs are self-financed. 

Only those students who have qualified their 10+2 examination in any stream from a reputed educational board with minimum 45% are eligible for admission. Total intake for BCA/BBA is 35 students, and for B.COM is 40.  The examination for all the programs will be conducted by the Guwahati university. Handique girls college undergraduate course fee will range around INR 7,180/- to INR 40,000/-. 

Handique Girls College PG Admission 2026

Handique Girls College admission process will begin soon for all PG programs for the academic session 2026. University offers a self-financed postgraduate program under Guwahati University. Students can apply for postgraduate courses in botany, zoology, Assamese, and chemistry. Only those applicants who have completed their BA/B.SC with honours in any related program will be eligible to apply for admission. Total intake of students for each subject is 15, except for Assamese with 20 students intake. 

The total duration of the course is two years with over four semesters. Admission will be based on a common entrance test conducted by Guwahati university for all university departments and affiliated colleges. Selection of students will be based on merit list prepared by Guwahati university. Handique girls college charges PG program fee between INR 15,000/- INR 28,000/-. Handique Girls College PGDCA Admission 2026

Handique Girls College admission registration process has not started yet for the PGDCA program for the academic session 2026. Students can apply to the self financed PGDCA program which is available for 1 year, spread over 2 semesters. University will enroll a maximum of 30 students for this program.  To be eligible for the PGDCA program, students need to complete a three year degree course from a recognized university. The entire course fee of PGDCA at Handique girls college is INR 21,000/-.

• Step 1: Students have to register through the SAMARTH Portal, www.assamsamarth.ac.in, only. 
• Step 2: Register with your username, mobile number, email ID and password.
• Step 3: Log in using registered email and password.
• Step 4: Upload passport-size photos and fill up pthe ersonal/educational details asked. 
• Step 5: Upload scan copies of all original documents. 
• Step 6: Ensure to generate DHE Unique ID which will be required for verification purposes. 
• Step 7: The provisional merit list will be uploaded by the university. 
• Step 8: Proceed for fee payment online. 
• Step 9: Download filled-in application form for future references.
