Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) was established on 30th September 2009, located in Tamil Nadu. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). CUTN offers 29 research programmes, 22 specialised programmes, 6 integrated programmes, 2 undergraduate programmes, and many PG diploma courses in regular mode.It aims to improve the quality and equity in education by providing research-based, valid, reliable, fair and international-level assessments. 

Central University of Tamil Nadu UG Admission 2026

Central University of Tamil Nadu admission registration for the undergraduate program has not started yet for the 2026 academic session. Candidates can apply through their respective admission portals. The university offers 4-year Undergraduate (Hons./Research) programmes in regular mode. The courses offered by the university are B.Sc (Hons/Research) in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics and Music. CUTN generally selects candidates on the basis of their secured grade in CUET PG (Common University Entrance Test). 

The eligibility criteria required by the university is to complete higher secondary education (10+2) from a certified board. It is also required to obtain a minimum of 50% to 55% aggregate marks at 10+2 grade in a relevant subject. It is highly required to check the guidelines and requirements before applying for any UG programme at CUTN. 

Central University of Tamil Nadu PG Admission 2026

Central University of Tamil Nadu admission for the postgraduate program will start soon for the academic session 2026. PG courses offered by Central University of Tamil Nadu include M.A. in Economics, English, Hindi, History, M.Sc. in Horticulture, Microbiology, Computer Science, LLM, M.Tech in Materials Science and Technology and many more. Applicants who have successfully completed their graduation from a reorganised university are eligible to pursue the PG programme.

Must ensure that you have obtained a minimum of 50% marks of aggregate in a relevant field. Candidates can not take direct admission to the PG programme; the university requires graduates to qualify for the Common University Entrance Test PG (CUET PG). The PG programmes’ fee generally starts between INR 17,976 to INR 21,134  per year. 

Central University of Tamil Nadu Admission Fee Structure 2026 

CUTN’s fee structure is much more affordable than other universities. The first year ranges between INR 16,6709 to INR 17,757 with all additional charges. The postgraduate courses fee starts from INR 16,569 to INR 19,440 for the first year. The fee is only acceptable online, which is payable through the university official website using online payment gateway.

Central University of Tamil Nadu Placement 

Central University of Tamil Nadu Placement provides their graduates with placement opportunities, which help to equip them with personal and professional skills. To get the placement at CUTN applicants have to go through the Pre-Placement Talk, which is followed by a written test and interview with the field leaders. The graduates can earn up to INR 36,000 per month after getting placements.  CUTN also provides on-campus placements.

CUTN scholarship scheme is very helpful to students who have financial burden, giving scholarships to them to support their financial conditions, so they also continue their education at a higher level. The university offers various scholarships, including the National Overseas Scholarship Scheme (NOS) for ST candidates, Central Sector Scheme (CSS), etc. University Management Information System (UMIS) -Unified State Scholarship opens the scholarship portal every year for 1st year SC/STBC.MBC students.
